Another AMD / Intel dillema

So, after reading tons of reviews and benchmarks I am no smarter than when I started.



This is my set up, all I need to choose is which CPU in my price range:



XFX Core Radeon HD7850 860M 2GB DDR5 2xmDP, HDMI, 2xDVI

KINGSTON ValueRAM DDR3 SDRAM Non-ECC (8GB,1600MHz(PC3-12800),Unbuffered) CL11, Retail

WESTERN DIGITAL WD Blue HDD Desktop (3.5", 1TB, 64MB, SATA III-600)

OCZ Power Supply OCZ CoreXStream AC 230V, 50Hz, DC 3.3/5/±12V, 500W, Retail, Active PFC, 1x120, Efficiency 80%

Spire Maverick gaming case

Motherboard of course depending on the CPU





Now, I am in doubt between:



Intel Core i3 3220 3.3Ghz,3MB,LGA 1155

AMD AMD CPU Trinity A10-Series X4 5800K (3.80GHz,4MB,100W,FM2) Box, Black Edition, Radeon TM HD 7660D

AMD AMD CPU Desktop FX-Series X6 6300 (3.5GHz,14MB,95W,AM3+) box



My PC will be used mostly for gaming, web design, some Photoshop and 3D software (Maya)



Please choose for me so I dont have to 😀

If you have to chose between these three processors then fx6300 is a viable choice.If you game at FHD then there won't be any big difference as far as gaming is concerned in between the fx6300 and i3 3220 except in some CPU bound games like Just cause2.Another thing is it is end of road for lga1155 socket processors but AM3+ might see another generation of processors with it.But if you can spend more then get an i5 3470 or alike.It would be better than any of these three.

Yes I would get the FX 6300.

I'm an intel fanboy and even I would say to go with the 6300.

wow, I was not expecting this, I was thinking I would get all 'buy i3' answers... so FX is the way to go? should I get a custom cooling for the FX then?

If you are going for some level of overclocking then you might need one,else the stock cooler is good enough even for moderate overclocks.

Personally even when I build something standard I like to put a third party cooler on. Something like a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro would be easily better than a stock fan and handle a slight overclock. If your after serious overclocking then go for something meatier.
