Hi THERE! and welcome to another budget build xD.
I have been reading a lot and trying to find which would be a good way to get the best base for a new computer.
First of all my budget after all is around US$ 500, i know it's not that much, but the main problem is that my notebook died in the middle of a college semester and it was my main pc, it was core 2 duo with nvidia GT9600 GTM (yeah i used it to play and it could handle even assassin's creed 3), meanwhile i have a Dual Core that a friend borrowed me to finish the remaining college work.

I'm trying to look for something that can be upgraded later this or next year, i know it's not that much money for a HIGH-END, but something decent (anything compared to a core 2 duo i think would be faster), I don't care about if it's i3 or i5 or i7 (even if possible), all i want is something that at least let me play Dota 2 and some other Valve games.

I have made a list here
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1Y31b
I picked those parts out from benchmark from this side and others sides, but i would like to know if it's ok or i can get better things for the money, specially because Black Friday is coming and probably i can get at least something in a little bit better than entry-level.
I haven't choose a case, power supply or other parts because I have some from old computers, might not be the best, but right now I don't have that much options, so i try to look just for the necessary and by the way, the graphic card I found it on amazon around US$ 120, so it's still in my budget (i don't know why it doesn't show that option in the parts list).

The use it will be receiving just not that fancy gamer (i don't care if everything is HIGH, just to be able to play it decently) and to develop stuff (like programming or attacking my own virtual machines)

THANKS!

and again I just want a good base to upgrade later in this or next year (probably if lucky enough to have the same socket type as 5th generation)

PD: I preffer to buy things online because i can get better prices, if not i'm from placerville, CA

If you're gaming, I wouldnt go with an i7. I can understand that you want to upgrade. Honestly any choice you make is going to be a good choice whether it be the FX6300 or the i5. I am a fan of saving money, so you can see my choice.
You can get a better card than that 560Ti for a lower price. If you can find it on Amazon for cheaper as you said it would be a decent buy.

I wouldnt recommend an older power supply unless its branded.

Are you stuck on Intel? Otherwise I would recommend the FX6300. Comparable at less cost.

Which card would you suggest, planning to spend something around US$ 150?

The power supply is from a computer that isn't used by my aunt, i think is from last year, so it's not THAT old.

I have never tried AMD, so many love/hate reviews that makes me create like a barrier against it,i picked the core i3 because i plan to upgrade it to an i5 or i7 in the next months.

The i3 processor cant be overclocked . The Z87 mb is for overclocking . RAM should be a dual channel kit for free performance .

And at this price the AMD FX 6300 + 970 series chipset board like the ASUS M5A97 R2.0 + 2 x4 gg of RAM is cheaper , performs better in all new games , and leaves some money left over to buy a beter graphics card

I don't want to overclock an i3, i will overclock later an i5 or i7.
I know probably AMD will get cheaper prices, but i dont think it will be good enough, specially because the plan of the i5 or i7 was in my mind, just that i have to buy something earlier than planned because of the problems with my notebook, that's the reason i'm looking for a good BASE to UPGRADE later.

I think you would be happy with the FX6300 to be honest. There's nothing wrong with it.

Does the power supply have a brand and wattage? I really stress this because the power supply can cause problems if it is not reliable. Seen this too many times on this forum.

Yeah, the power supply it's for 600W but not known brand...yeah, i was planning to get one to, hope on black friday there are discounts everywhere or else i will have to wait some more time to buy the graphic card.

I know there are a lot of AMD lovers but for me it has been always been a NO, it's like meeting someone that you don't know why you don't like him/her.
Anyways, can you please give me both ideas, as in AMD and Intel something to get me clear this better.
The reason I picked the Z87 was obviously as a base for a i5 4670K and the rest just to simply make it work until i get the rest of the money to make it better

AMD got its bad rep back even before the Radeon HD4000 series, when some of the drivers they made were somewhat buggy for some people in certain configurations. Many of them just had no idea how to operate the drivers, and AMD came to blame. They have not had bad drivers in my experience since. (to be fair, I've never met anyone with driver problems with AMD cards or processors)

I've had several AMD chips, about 6 or 7 to be exact. All of them still work to this day. I have an Intel i5 2500K in my main though. I've also run my fair share of AMD graphics cards along with Nvidia. All have worked flawlessly.

Can you give me an idea of what items should have an AMD for that budget?

You mention that your main computer is an i5 2500K and my goal is that, maybe i don't have enough money right now, but to start buying something that i can upgrade later to get my goal, with my birthday coming and christmas i can get more money, but for now i only have that budget but in the next months i would be able to get more stuff or you simply suggest that i wait to get a better budget?
The main reason i opened this topic is because black friday is coming and i wouldn't like to miss a deal or to at least have some BASE for the i5 4670K or i7 4770k, do you understand what i mean? Because i know probably AMD would be better for my budget, but that's just a momentary build for some months and my actual goal is for the Intel Core i5 or i7. That's the reason i ask which would be better for an immediate upgrade.

If you're gaming, I wouldnt go with an i7. I can understand that you want to upgrade. Honestly any choice you make is going to be a good choice whether it be the FX6300 or the i5. I am a fan of saving money, so you can see my choice.
