Hey guys, I'm buying the parts to build my new pc and I was wondering what would be better. Should I buy a 1231v3 and 16gb ram or go for the 1241v3 and 8gb ram? the computer will be used for rendering an 3d modelling, and for some not hardcore gaming at 1080p

The other components are:

PSU: antec vp 700watt
MoBo: asrock h97 anniversary
Case: zalman z3
GPU: msi r9 380
Ram: 8gb or 16 gb 1600ghz
CPU: 1231v3 or 1241v3

Solution

Nope. The profit from having more RAM will easily outperform the 100Mhz difference of the CPU.

1231v3 + 16gb is the way to go.

CPU difference is minimal. I'd suggest the 1231v3 with 16gb RAM. You could profit from having additional 8gb RAM especially in rendering/modelling.
Gaming would probably the same at 1080p. Eventhough i always suggest 16gb over 8gb, because games like Total War can run out of RAM @1080p even with 8gb. So 16gb is the way to go if you ask me.
