So I'm planning on putting together my first computer, aiming for a good enough rig to play stuff like witcher 2/starcraft2 or crysis at a high setting and also able to handle 3D/graphic applications like 3DS max and photoshop , I'll list below what I have as well as what I'm planning to get, any advice would be grateful. (links to amazon)

(got this aready) CPU: AMD phenon 2 X4 Quad 955 Core 3.2GHz Processor

http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Phenom-...YUAE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1307748372&sr=8-1

(got this already) Motherboard: ASUS M4A89GTD PRO - AMD 890GX - Socket AM3 - PCI-E 2.0 (x16) - DDR3 2000(OC)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-M4A89G...8O/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1307748414&sr=8-12

(now what I'm planning to get, but willing to change)

GPU: 2X Asus Radeon 6850 ( think of going crossfire but not sure whether i'm over doing it)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-Radeon...OU/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1308079487&sr=8-12

RAM: Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 SDRAM Memory ) probably go 8GB

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMX...OLE&s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1310853296&sr=1-3

PSU: Coolermaster Silent Pro 700W

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Coolermaste...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1311794388&sr=1-1

Hard Drive: Samsung F3 HD103SJ 1TB internal Hard Drive

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-HD1...RPM/dp/B002MQC0P8/ref=pd_bxgy_computers_img_b

DVD/Blu-ray Drive: Samsung SH-B083L 8x Blu-Ray Reader & Lightscribe DVDRW Writer (thought i'd pimp it up with a bluray drive)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-SH-...1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1311794782&sr=1-4

Cooler: Zalman CNPS9900-MAX Blue Ultra Aero Flower CPU Cooler Intel & AMD

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zalman-CNPS...26?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1309598997&sr=1-26

Case: now this is a tricky one I'm not sure if I wanna go full or mid,
the cases i'm looking at:

Cooler Master HAF X - Full tower

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Mast...STP2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309850541&sr=8-1

or
Coolermaster HAF 922 Mid Tower Chassis

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Coolermaster-HAF-922-Tower-Chassis/dp/B00290GKJO/ref=pd_cp_computers_3

I think that should be it,

so let me know what you guys think,

thanks

If you are building with AMD make sure your motherboard is AM3+ compatible [ Ideally using a 970 or 990 series chipset] so you can upgrade to a Bulldozer processor later on .

Without knowing the resolution of your monitor its impossible to comment on whether a 6850 is enough , or too little graphics punch

And right now Intel have a clear lead in multimedia aps with their sandy bridge processors . Building using one of those makes more sense today if its in your budget [ which you also didnt mention ]

Ah sorry and thank you for your comment. In terms on monitors, going for dual screen 2 asus 22VH6 resolution 1920x1080

The budget is around £600 to £700,

it appears the mother board I got does support AM3+

Have a look at the charts tab above and you can see the kind of frame rates a graphics card can produce . A single 6850 is about the starting point for one 1080p screen if you want to play on high graphics quality .
A 6870 works really well

I have two Radeon HD 6850 in crossfire and their really good, in games like Crysis I get around 60-120 fps which is plenty for me. If your going Crossfire get the full tower case as things may get a little toasty in there. I would also get a Coolermaster Hyper 212+ Cooler also, much better IMO and cheaper.
