Hey all, I am going to be buying a new 22" monitor for my computer and 360. The reason I'm getting a new one, considering i already have a 22" LCD, is that when i play my 360 on it it looks washed out, or too dark. I have tried every possible adjustment over the past year and it's just getting on my nerves. So basically I'm looking for a 22" HD monitor that will do my 360 games justice. I have between 250-300 dollars (with some more lenience if need be.)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: my current monitor is a gateway FPD2275W

I would recommend getting a 21.5" monitor that has a 16x9 aspect ratio. They will do 1920x1080 (as opposed to most 22" 16x10's that will do 1680x1050). You'll get a sharper image because the pixels are physically closer together, HDMI inputs for full HD 1080p, and you won't miss that last .5"...

Here's one example of a monitor like that (for $189): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236051

I can't guarantee the image/color quality of that one specifically, but others on the newegg site seem to have liked it quite a bit. Sorry I can't recommend one specifically for you, but I thought I'd at least give you that little tidbit of info.

Heh, that is of course assuming that you have an HDMI connector from your 360. Or VGA? I think I remember reading that you could use a VGA D-Sub connector for your 360 somehow too...

I have no idea what VGA D-Sub is to be honest. I don't have an HDMI connector for my 360 (it's first generation). Will I basically be stuck sub 1080p without HDMI? I'm using the RGB component cables the system came with on my FPD2275W at the moment, it says 1080p but it looks kinda crappy no matter how i configure the monitor.

That's the VGA cable for the 360.

These will be the only video connectors on the monitor I linked earlier:

(note the VGA D-Sub)

So, you can go with a monitor like that and get the VGA cable for your 360, or you can try to find another monitor like yours that has component cable inputs, which seems to be fairly uncommon in that size.

Also, after a bit of googling, it looks like the VGA connector does support 1080p. Don't quote me on that though =)
