Hey all, I need to purchase dual monitors so that I can run a powerpoint presentation on gotomeeting and have 1 monitor showing the actual presentation, and the other monitor showing my slide notes. Apparently I need 2 monitors to be able to do this.

Here is a picture of the back of my computer, so you can see the ports I have:

The red hdmi cable that the arrow is pointing to is what my current monitor is plugged into.

Also, I'm assuming once I connect everything, the 2nd monitor will show up here, as a #2?

Can I even set up dual monitors properly on my computer?

Thanks for all your help!

Yes you should be able to but you would have to use the blue plug on the right side of the picture for the second monitor ( and yes the second monitor will show up in the second picture you posted, thats the thing you use to show where and how far the monitors are from eachother irl)

Thanks for the quick reply! So based on what you said, I need to get some kind of converter and then just plug another monitor in, and it will automatically appear as monitor 2 on this screen? https://www.screencast.com/t/84lbJCJq What converter do I need to get? Is it DVI to HDMI?

The blue plug is actually VGA (sorry for not confirming that) could you please link me your second monitor? Thanks!

Got it. So I was thinking about just buying 2 of these monitors, connecting 1 with the hdmi input and then the other with a VGA to hdmi converter. Is that basically what I should do?

That will work!
