[SOLVED] Another PC is shutting down while gaming thread

Salutions all!
I apologize as I probably know that everyone is sick and tired of the same old problems popping up, but I'm a broke college student who can't afford another gaming rig in the foreseeable future. So I just want to future proof it as much as possible until I earn some more money to get a brand new one.

Anyway, the title says it all, my pc just shuts down and turns back on when I put load on it. I've read through a few articles online that it could just be a faulty psu and hardware that overheats like the cpu and the gpu. I've also read that having a faulty psu might destroy my entire rig Thanos style. As I said earlier, I can't afford another rig as of now( even though I'm thinking of getting a new one in the advent of AMD stomping Intel cpu nowadays).

My specs are:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Kingston HyperX Fury 8gb 4x2 2133MHZ
B250M Bazooka
Corsair VS650w

While on the subject I also am using an airflow focused case with 6 120mm fans.

Here are some screenshots that I hope would be useful in finally resolving my problem as soon as possible before my pc turns into mash potatoes.

Depends on which VS. If it's the older style with yellow block lettering, then any of the above is a serious step up. If it's the newer black/silver version, then the CXM is a hair better (thin hair at that) and outputs are better than the 2 Seasonic psus, with build quality somewhat on par.

Critical error 41(63) is just a logging entry of sudden power loss (shutdown) without a clean windows shutdown. By itself means nothing unless there's a log entry attached as to what caused the sudden shutdown. It's like walking into your bedroom, looking at the alarm clock blinking 12:00 on/off and wife then tells you power went out.

Sudden shutdowns have multiple causes, drivers or psu or temps being the most common.

The VS from Corsair are not meant for gaming. I would start from there, when budget allows it.
Ok thanks for the input, besides being the VS is not meant for gaming, can we rule out that its the one causing the random shutdowns while playing?

And in terms of psu heres some that I got in mind.
Corsair CX Series™ CX550M 550 Watt 80 PLUS
Seasonic M12II 620w 80Plus Bronze Full Modular Psu
Seasonic M12II-520 EVO Bronze 80Plus
Would these be any good? or maybe you have your own suggestion that you can give me, again I would totally appreciate the help.

  1. Seasonic Prime Ultra is about the best there is, amongst the top 3 psu series. For $92 that's an absolute steal. Jump on it.
  2. Corsair RMx. Pretty equitable to the Seasonic Focus Plus, but price point puts it way ahead.
  3. Seasonic Focus Plus. Pretty equitable to Corsair RMx, but price point fails it hard, more expensive than a Prime Ultra Platinum.
  4. Evga G3. Very respectable, but not as good as it's predecessor the G2.
  5. Corsair TXM. 1 step below RMx, just ahead of RM. Very solid psu.
  6. Evga G1+. Last (and least) but still decent, but price point puts it far out of any consideration. Might be ok at closer to $60ish.

Thanks for this, but are there more reliable psu's on the 60-80 usd range? I'm trying to get a good psu without breaking bank

And when I do finally plan on upgrading, would the suggested psu's still be viable?

Corsair:
VS, CXM, CX, RM, TXM, RMx, RMi, HX, HXi, AX, AXi

Yeah, the TXM is right between an RM and RMx in terms of overall quality, outputs, etc. That's from Jon Gerow, more popularly known as jonnyguru, one of the head ppl in Corsair psu division.

So there's not going to be much better in that price range unless you get lucky on a sale.

Jump froggy, it's not going to last long at this price. The RMx is usually in the $90+ range, after rebates.
