So this has been a problem for a few weeks now as I've been trying to figure out which part in the system is failing. When the system boots up the PSU fan spins once and then.... nothing...
My current configuration:
ASUS P8Z77-V LX LGA 1155 Intel Z77 mobo
Corsair Enthusiast Series 650-Watt TX650 PSU
Intel Core i5-2500K Processor
Corsair Vengeance 4 GB ( 2 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1600 MHz DDR3 (x4) memory
OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G 2.5" 120GB SATA SSD
Originally I had a different power supply which I replaced with the Corsair (thinking it was a power supply problem)
I then replaced the mobo with the ASUS (I originally had a ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3) but I still get the same results.
When i try and boot up I dont get any beep codes, the PSU fan spins up and stops and then about 10 seconds later it spins up again and stops. Nothing ever shows up on the monitor.
I'm going off the onboard video but I also have a EVGA GeForce GTX 660 but I haven't plugged that in to the now mobo yet.
I've tried different configurations with the four memory sticks with no different results and I even tried booting without any memory sticks installed in the hopes I'd at least get some beep codes (I didn't get any beep codes)
I can't help but think that it's the CPU?
I was really thinking it was the motherboard. On the old mobo there is an LED readout that shows error codes but that wouldn't even light up when I booted it up, that's what made me think it was the mobo.
I've been through this excellent checklist for mobo problems too:

update: on whim I took out the CPU and booted it up, hoping for something different, beep codes would have been nice. The only real difference it seems is that the mobo boots up pretty quickly and then boots back down and thats it. When the CPU is plugged in it seems to boot up and the led on the hard drive blinks green then amber then green and stays green. After about 15 seconds or so it cycles through that process again but just the one time. The hard drive light stays lit and the CPU can be felt getting hotter.
