Ok, I haven't built a pc since the mid 90's... when it cost me $290 for a 850MB hard drive...
Anyway, I'm utterly confused by graphics cards. I'm building sort of a gaming pc off an existing HP pc. The MB has a pcie x16 2.0 slot on it and I'm trying to figure out the best option. Here are some other specs.
AMD Phenom ii x6 1055t
8gb ram (will increase to 16gb eventually)
650w power supply (with pcie connections)
The MB is a stock HP one. I think it's called the Alpinia RS680L.
The twist part of this post is that eventually I plan on upping the board and the processor when I move into something other than the stock case. So I would prefer a decent card that I could stick in an updated board and it would still be decent. I'd like to keep the price below $200.00. I've got my eye on a Sapphire Radeon R9 270 2gb card but honestly have no idea if it's decent.
The goal would be to play Skyrim with good graphics settings and "hopefully" play Fallout 4 when it comes out.
Any help would be appreciated.
