Answer Needed ASAP Please!

Hello,

I am building an awesome gaming PC, and one of the parts I need to select is the RAM (obviously). I have narrowed my choice down to two types. Either one I pick will be the 2x4GB 2400MHz DDR3 set:

From what I can work out, the Beast is slightly more expensive and hasn't got a heatsink as good as the Predator. Please tell me why (and if) the Beast is better, because I will be willing to buy this RAM if it is better in any way. Also, please can you tell me if either of these RAM options will work in the motherboard I have selected. I really don't have a clue:

I really hope this memory will work on this motherboard. I am ordering my PC later today, so I really need to know from someone who knows for definite whether it will. Thanks in advance for any help, I really need a response soon .

Heatsinks don't matter. DDR3 RAM uses so little volts that you don't need a heatsink, even for overclocking.

Personally, I think this ram is a good deal right now.

Ivy Bridge CPU doesn't really benefit from RAM above 1600.

First off, the motherboard will support either one of those types of ram, so you are good there. As for choosing between them, they are pretty much the same, and the heat sinks on both are some of the best on the market. The only reason i would pick the Predator RAM over the Beast RAM is if the XMP (extreme memory profile) is what you want, otherwise the choice is about even.

Sorry, one more thing that I forgot to mention is that I live in the UK and both of these sets of RAM are really good value here. This build will be awesome for gaming and from what I have learnt, the higher MHz RAM is better for this purpose (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). Which one of these two RAM sets would you pick, and will either one of them definitely work in the motherboard I have selected? Really appreciate the help 😀.

Thank you, I knew there must have been a difference! I don't know a lot about RAM, but from what I understand, XMP is better? (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

Also, just to 100% clarify, this motherboard will definitely work with this RAM. This build will cost me a lot of money, so I just want to be really sure. The confusion I had was when I was on the specification page, in the Memory section, it says it supports 1.5V RAM, and I thought both of these were 1.65V. Does it make a difference?

One other thing I have just spotted is that on the Gigabyte page, in the supported modules, it doesn't actually say that 2400MHz is supported

First, the motherboard will DEFINITELY work. What it means by the 1.5v ram is that is what the manufacturer will support. if the other ram is 1.65v (which it is) you will have to overclock the voltages to get it run at the speed specified, but this is normal for the high end ram. and then on the gigabyte page, it says that its supported, but you will have to overclock it to get there.

Ok, just one more question; will it be 100% safe to have RAM running at these voltages in the motherboard and at that MHz? Isn't overclocking when you go above the manufacturer speed intended? And someone else in a different question put that having high MHz RAM can decrease the life span of your CPU, is this true? I will be ordering my PC in a couple of hours, and I just really want to make sure everything will work fine.

Not worth it. 1600 is ideal.
