Hi

My current setup is an Antec 300 v2 case with default top and back fans. I have an AMD FX6100 CPU with a stock cooler attatched, and my GPU is a Sapphire 7870.

I recently bought the game CS:GO, and during gameplay, my computer shuts off randomly, which is due to overheating.

I did add a second monitor at the same time, which is plugged into the motherboard and the primary is in the GPU.

Idle temperature is around 35C, during gameplay it hits around 70C.

I thought an aftermarket CPU fan will help but I've also read that perhaps my case airflow isn't correct. The motherboard I'm using doesn't have any more fan sockets but I can get splitters or plug them into the PSU instead

And I've tried to clear the dust from everything

Any suggestions?

Try to get 1-2 fans to also blow some air inside the case, to speed up the air movement.
Also, where is your unit placed? Do you by any chance have it down on a carpet, or on your desk with one side stuck to the wall?

You should have your unit on a flat wooden surface (can be something else, but not carpet), and with all sides having a 20-30 cm distance between any wall, to allow for air circulation.

So all in all, get a better CPU cooler (Cooler Master 212 Evo is a good cheaper one), one or more fans to blow some air into the case, and be carefull to how you have your case positioned.
What is your fan setup? I would imagine (and hope) that you have a negative pressure profile. Meaning both top and rear fan are blowing air outside of the case, not inside.
Also, what PSU do you have? The PC might shut down because the PSU cannot provide all the power you ask from it, in order to save itself and other components from damage.
