Antec 500w EarthWatts for XFX 6870

I've had problems with this card - this thread:

Now I am being told by XFX and asus folk that 550w, shockingly a XFX Core Edition PRO550W is what's needed.

But I can't think of any other probable cause other than the PSU.

Is an EarthWatts enough?

I should be fine but it also depends on the rest of your system.

antec earthwatts 500w will be more than fine for a single 6870, even if you had a heavily OC'd 6 core CPU and 6 hard drives.

I assumed it would be, unless of course the PSU is malfunctioning.

Both ASUS folk and XFX people are saying 600w minimum - when the box says 500w =D
