I am making a new system with these specs and want to know if I am overdoing it. I know that more watts would be good. Please comment if I should change something.

Pentium4 3.2C,
twin cousair 1g ram
SATA 74gig raptor
9800 ATI Pro
Audigy 2
Super Lanboy case

I was thinking on getting a Antec Sonata case and the 480 watt True Power supply, but the cost is not by much so I went for the more power supply. I do plan to overclock as well. Thanks for any inputs.

For that system a Fortron Source or Sparkle Power 530W would be best. They output more than any of Antec's 550W units, and cost less.

<pre> 530 550
Fortron Antec
+3.3v 28A 32A
+5 40A 40A
+12 18A 30A
-12 0.8A 1.0A
-5 0.3A 0.5A
+5Vsb 2.0A 2.0A

These are the specs from manufacture.
Did I see that right, Fortron amp rating goes down on the 530 to 550watt? I didnt list those specs, they are at Fortron.

The Antec has more power anyway from what I can tell.

The labels don't tell the whole storry, testing has shown Fortrons to be more conservatively rated than Antec. They do use shared lines, which is the reason you often see split numbers.
