So I bought the Antec truequiet 120 mm fan to supplement the heat of my gpu. I went to plug the fan into the spare system fan port on my Gigabyte z97p-d3 motherboard but after starting the computer the other two case fans started up but not the antec fan. The fan does come with a molex port however my corsair cs550m psu doesnt have a molex port. Am I missing something because I believed it should work on plug in. Any advice?

Looks like a standard 3-pin fan with a speed selector switch. If that switch is faulty it might be preventing it from working.

You can also check the BIOS to see if that fan port is being controlled in any way. If, for example, it is set to provide voltage at a certain temperature, that temperature may not be being reached. Or if it is, and the switch on the fan is in the "Low" speed position, which suggests some sort of resistive control, it may be not enough voltage to get the fan started.

A simple test would be to take a 9V battery and plug that into the fan's first two pins (the third is the RPM sensor) If it spins up it is the fan port that is the problem. (I normally use a 12V supply or an ATX supply to test fans, A 9V should...
