I have been trying to build a new computer with this 430W PSU, but for
some reason when I plug in the supply into the mobo, the unit does
not power up. however, when I plug the supply in loosely, the unit
does power up. Has anyone else had this problem?

By plugging it in loosely i mean by not plugging in the 20 prong cable
securely into the motherboard (until it snaps securely).

mobo problem almost definitely. power coupler not securely soldered to
the board or something. under warranty i hope? :)
