anti virus selection

if i run an anti virus software, malwarebytes and a spyware removal such as norton eraser at the same time, wont it make ma computer slow...??... because free anti virus softwares alone cant do al these things ryt??

Malwarebytes (the free version) and Norton Eraser are both On Demand scanners. This means they do absolutely nothing until you manually open the program and start a scan. So no, they won't slow anything down unless you are currently running a scan.

They are both perfectly fine to run alongside any antivirus program. In fact Malwarebytes is highly recommended as a means of supplementing your protection. I recommend most people to run a Malwarebytes scan once per week just to check for anything their main Antivirus may have missed.

Slow downs and conflict issues start to occur when you have more than one antivirus program using Real-time protection (sometimes referred to as on-access scanning). Someone above mentioned using...

Someone above mentioned using Avast! + Windows Defender which actually breaks this rule unless they have disabled real-time scanning in Windows Defender 😉


I agree with other posters that Avast! is one of the best free antivirus available. I also like BitDefender free but the interface is very limited.

As for paid Antivirus - I'm a fan of Kaspersky and despise McAfee. Not keen on Norton either.

i already ve mcafee which expires today.. i ve downloaded avira.. wen i try to install avira, it gives incompatibility error saying mcafe maybe blocking it, pls uninstall mcafee then it might work.. but at d same time it says, ur computer remains unprotected while installing avira.. wa t do i do??... wont it b unsafe if i ve to use internet durin installation?... cant i uninstall mcafee after installing avira??
