Agreed with Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free and works very well under Windows 7.

right now I am using Avira for windows 7. It is user-friendly and easy to download also. And the virus definition is up-to-date as well. You will find no problem using this.

I like to recommend you avast free antivirus which can support windows 7, maybe you can have a try.

BTW, although antivirus software is a must, it cannot 100% protect your files. So recommend you a free backup software which can make a duplicate of your data and 100% protect your system and files. You can have a look.

I agree with this and totally endorse avast!, never had problems with it, no need to switch it off while gaming due to CPU, only thing you have to do is register, but as Tigerfeed said, it's free and after that you won't have to prolong this registry for another 2 years or so

I have always had good experiences with AVG. It has a free edition which works nicely.
