I've been having problems with with ram usage for about a year now and I've noticed that it always has to do with an antivirus using too much ram. It wasn't until I started using windows defender that I started monitoring it and I noticed that it SLOWLY starts going up and up; .2 mb a second. I've let it go up all the way to 98%. It wasn't until I turned off and on WD that it seemed to fix the issue. It went from 11 gigs of usage back to 158 mb and became stable. But this is just a temporary fix. Why is this happening? Not just with WD but with any antivirus that I use. I know that some antiviruses can be heavy on the memory but DAMN, if I don't stop it'll end up consuming all that ram until there isn't any left. Is this a memory leak? After a year I honestly don't know anymore. I've tried SOME things but none of them seem to be working. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Your post reads like you're on Windows 10. If so then it's possible that it may be a one off event with Windows Defender but Memory Leaks area common occurrence with Windows 10 when the OS is corrupt.
