[SOLVED] Any accounting student here? What apps you use to learn?

Solution
Pencil and Paper

Accounting is not about software or applications.

It's about learning terms, learning when and how to use those terms, and then being able to report the outcomes of using that data.

Excel can be your electronic version of paper and pencil.

There are many applications out there that are tools in a business to assist and track your accounting, but they would be tools that you will learn when working as there are many different ones.

Additionally, bad at math is something you will have to work at because accounting is all about math.
What schools or colleges are you interested in attending?

The software applications listed in your link are specialized/targeted apps for managing school finances - not general accounting packages or teaching packages.

Although the curriculum may use one of those packages or something similar. More likely in later classes as you go from General Accounting classes to more specialized accounting classes.

Contact the college(s) you are interested in (or going to attend) and then contact a faculty member within the applicable Department: Accounting/Finances/Business etc. depending on the college's organization.

The faculty member should be able to tell you what software to get for your laptop in accordance with the classes you intend to take. Some colleges can often provide the software at reduced costs. Maybe even free. There may even be hardware discounts available for the laptop.

Also double check any materials from the college. The classes you select should provide some listing of recommended hardware, software, and other materials.

As for being "bad at math" (which I doubt) the solution is just like being "bad" at anything. Study, learn, practice, practice, practice......

Good chance that the school will require some basic math classes during the first couple of semesters. If not required - take them anyway. Consider a couple of summer "prep" classes.

Solution
Excel. Learn formulas. Learn how to construct a ledger. Learn how to manipulate large spreadsheets. Learn all the various forms and the math that they require. There's no one software program that can be recommended outside of stuff that's industry specific.
