The only cpu that beats the 5800x 5900x right now is the 12900k. But even with that ryzen has been amazing. With out ryzen intel would have never stepped up there game. Also we will probably see intel put back in second place later this year

If you're not going to upgrade with a K suffix processor or ram that's higher than 3200MHz, you should get a B660 chipsetted motherboard.

Also, the context of this build needs some clarification. Is this for gaming(with a discrete GPU purchase when prices get favorable) or for productivity?

Things i would change about this build. i712700k cpu, any z690 asus mother board with ddr5, 16 gb ddr5 kit, crucial nvme pcix gen 4 or seagate gen 4 main drive. Samsung evo line not the best choice for boot drive. last but not least gold min level psu. the psu is like top 2 of importance of build quality. If the psu <Mod Edit> itself it could kill everything. If u don't plan on going higher than 3200 mhz ram i would not build a 12th gen intel setup. It would be cheaper and just as fast to get a amd 5800x with all the parts u need.

Could you add up on pc part picker I might squeeze another 100 quid on top so my max would be £800

not ddr5. its way to expensive and doesn't improve gaming performance. Also this is way out of budget

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wdPVnt here is a solid not sure what it would cost u. I didn't add the storage drives there some good options out there. I have a gen 4 Seagate in my gaming system. Works nice.
I always been with intel as I already have i5 10400f cpu but I will be giving this pc to my brother and I want to build new one is the Ryzens really good for gaming as I never had ryzen some people say is bad some people say it’s good if I get the ryzen 7 5800x how will be the performance ? Better then i5 10400f ?
