Approximate Purchase Date: By the end of August

Budget Range: around $1500 after rebates. I am looking to add multiple graphics cards a little later on when I get more cash.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, surfing the internet, watching movies

Parts Not Required: Need all

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com, Amazon.com

Country of Origin: US

Parts Preferences: I would like to use an Intel CPU & maybe an Asus or Asrock mobo with a 22-24" LCD and full tower case.

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: Yes

Additional Comments: Looking for a system that will allow me to upgrade easily over the next several years. Something that will last a while and is quiet.

I have picked these parts out so far:

The 6950 isn't a power hog. If you plan to crossfire and overclock, you will need a minimum of 800W or so. You can actually run 2 6950 with a 650W but that's cutting it way too close for comfort. I suggest dropping your power supply odwn to 850W.

Other than that, you will have good upgradibility. The i5-2500k will last you ages because it's already the best bang for your bucks and AMD has no offers that can surpass it yet (waiting for Bulldozer benchmarks). Your power supply (hopefully you drop down but it's your choice) will have enough to power 2 6950 easily and still have headroom for overclocking, hard drives, and whatever add ons you will be planning in the future.
