Your build seems fine if you want to get an AMD CPU. Perhaps you could save some money by getting windows 10 Home edition since most people don't really need the pro edition features.

EDIT. Your choices don't reflect an inexperienced person.

your build is almost fine.
the only questionable choice is 144Hz monitor and AMD CPU. This monitor would be better IN GAMING with comparable priced i5-8400.
though it totally depends on your budget and priorities.

also, I will consider changing to the Intel CPU you mentioned @n0ns3ns3, it really does seem like I could get a little more for just a few more dollars. Thanks guys!

we would be able to help you a bit more if you posted your total budget for the build and list of parts that you already have.
for example, you can either get a much cheaper PSU without loosing on the reliability/quality or get a much better one for the same price.
