Ok so im thinking of getting a Core i3 4170 @3.7GHz and was wondering if there is any better cpu than this for around the same price.\

I paying $169.00 AUD for this cpu so just wondering

The 6100 is pretty much the same but the new gen so it is good. But depends on the other parts of your system.

Could you recommend a motherboard for around $159 AUD because i was getting a gigabyte H97M-D3H but if i get this one i would need a new motherboard?

Probably should have mentioned i have ddr3 ram....

You would need ddr4 with that combo. If you don't want to get new RAM, stick with the i3 4170 + H97
