Just curious if there are any bikers on here, and if so, what do you currently ride?

I just sold my 2001 Honda CBR1100xx due to a brain surgery I'm recovering from, can't drive for about six months and by that time I'll have moved back to the U.S. and am looking into a Kawasaki Zh2 but I'm not 100% decided yet. Want something I can use on track and around town. I pretty much daily drove my motorcycle. For being a bigger bike, it was surprisingly do-able.

Some bikes I've been researching (and liking) are the Kawasaki Z1000, both the naked and touring models. The Yamaha FZ-10 and the newer Suzuki Katana.

Been riding a long time, just gave it up a couple of years ago.

My first road bike was a KZ 750, some CB 750/900, a GS that I can't recall for sure the displacement. Owned a Sportster and a Honda VT....my absolute fave were CBR (Hurricane) variants. My last was a CBR 900 which darn near killed me and took a foot.

I have ridden since, and still enjoy doing so, however boss momma has told me I need to retire to 3 wheelers. I bought a Euro sports car instead.

First "real" bike I had was a late 80's Suzuki Intruder. My grandfather got it for free off of his work buddy who used it for a year when new, parked it and didn't touch it since. Spent weekends with my grandad working on it, surprisingly good shape. The carbs needed cleaning, that was probably 80% of the work. Then a new tail light and removing some obnoxiously tall sissy bars and tassels (ugh) from the handlebar lol.

That is a trip. My grandfather in law had an Intruder with a sidecar. He called it his wheelchair. He rode it well into his 90's. He was a pastor and would ride it to church in his suit.

While was doing the "Harley" thing, my boss at the time had a VTX 1800 (I would own one in a second) with tassels off the grips. As we were riding one time a hawk or owl came down and tried to catch it, ending up in a lot of feathers and a passed on bird, but was completely a trip when it happened in tight formation with a group.
That same group was also well known for scooping road kill with a boot and often aimed for the air cooled rigs. I caught a possum one time that was pretty foul for a while. In what is the twisted world of cycle clubs and rallies it made way more sense...

Sounds like good times, Punkcat. Ah, the VTX1800, in my opinion it looks better than most Harley's. I'm not a Harley fan, never have been. But I do like the ones from the 40's and I like the "culture" of Harley in the 60's. Even though that was a few decades before my time.

Your grandad sounds awesome btw, hope I'm riding into my 90's! With a side car huh? That's kinda cool, ngl.
