I'm looking to purchase two computers that are capable of running windows 7 for as cheap as possible that will BOOT ON POWER. That is, they turn on all by themselves once they receive power.

The problem I'm having is FINDING OUT if a PC (laptop or desktop) for sale has this ability. It's NEVER published in any of the specs or details. It seems the only way you can find out is if you already own the machine, and can enter BIOS to play around. I think the answer lies in figuring out which motherboards' bios' support this feature, then buying the PC based on the motherboard. But I can't even find out which motherboards do it.

Any ideas?

Hi
Any Mainboard from 2000 - 2001 till now have this option - Power State -> Last state or Stay OFF
They also have schedule - you can set it to be auto power on on specific day and time
Look for the config thet will fit you needs and just check in details the Mobo User Guide
Under BIOS section look for those options Power State -> Last state or Stay OFF & schedule

I Hope this helps !

Neither of my laptops (both only 3 years old) have this option. Not sure why you think every computer has it. Reboot your computer right now, go into bios, and make sure it has it. If it does, then please tell me the make and model of your motherboard so I can go buy it. Thanks!

Yes, this is the first time I've ever thought of distinguishing between laptops and desktops when looking for this feature. Thank you for pointing that out. I bouth some random cheapo Lenovo refurbished desktop and the feature was there.

THANK YOU!
