Is AMD planning on coming out w/any 3 Ghz socket A CPU's? Or has AMD
given up on further development in socket A CPU's?

socket A is dead
3200 Barton was the last

There are no plans for anything faster than the 3200+ for socket A. I
think it's safe to say that there is no further developement there. even
the "new" Semprons are just repackaged, renamed, and rated higher Tbred
cores. So the only thing new on them is packaging.

Doubt that, bet that was the mood AMD intended everyone to feel so they
would upgrade. If I was AMD I would keep releasing them, as there are a
lot of Socket A owners to keep making money out of. Besides, whats
happening with Socket A mobile chips?
