Get a different HDD like the WD6401AALS

I would also use a different PSU, you can do much better for the price. Look at the corsair 650tx.

I Don't like foxconn, I would go for an Asus or Gigabyte board, but that one may be a good one, I don't know.

Onboard Audio is usually pretty good and I don't think you would hear the difference between it and that sound card.

Go for the Saphire HD 4870 1GB Toxic card. Its $20 more and worth the price for the better cooling solution and overclock.

I don't have any experience with that particular foxconn board. But I have used one recently, and will never do so again. It is a cheap board for budget builds. The bios seems to be limited with very few OC options. It's just not meant for high end systems, and it looks like you are trying to build a higher end system.

I'm looking at that corsair power supply. I think I'll go with that.

The seagate hard drive is cheaper than the wd drive due to the combo deal. I currently have a seagate that I'm happy with but if the wd is that much better I'll consider it.

The only reason I went with the Foxconn board is the combo deal. It wouldn't be my top choice of a board for sure. Looks average but the combo discount saves quite a lot so it looks like a good deal. It has the chipset and features I want.

Any specific am2+ ddr 2 boards you suggest? I have used abit and asus boards in the past which I like. So many models it is hard to narrow it. I'm at the edge if not over my budget as it is. $1250 was my range.

The sapphire card looks good also. I might change to that one. The little changes are adding up though putting me over budget.

I don't plan on crossfire now, but a year from now I might add another card to get more life out of it.

If you wanted you can consider the 4870 512mb which is as cheap as a 4850.

As for mobo's, you'd have to find something that will support pII x4 cpus, i dont think a mboo with a cpu type of phenom fx/ phenom/athlon x4 would do it would it? just a question.

+1 on the gigabyte for 114.99$, chosen that board aswell.

Asus has some pretty good boards aswell in that range but, i seen them about $20 more. which is unusual because on the intel side gigabyte is usually $20 more.

It should do pretty well, but foxconn doesn't have the greatest trackrecord and customer service is lacking. I have also heard of bios issues with that board, however it is a very good value.

Thanks everyone!

I went with the saphire toxic card, the corsair power supply, and paid 20 bucks more for that foxconn board combo. I debated on the board but that foxconn was just too good a deal so I went with it.

I really appreciate the input as I think I got a better components and only paid a little more. I think I paid about 50 bucks more than the original quote. You guys are the best!
