any free or low-cost alternative to Google doc?

Google doc is good for me because it's online and accessible everywhere. However, the disadvantage is it often takes quite many seconds to shift between one document to another, even with high-speed broadband. It has been headache for me for long time.

Hi is there any free or low-cost alternative to Google docs? Openoffice is good but it's not online. Microsoft office can be online but it's as lagged as Google doc

Any ONLINE solutions will always be slower than a program run locally on your hard drive. There is not 'alternative' way 'online'. If your real goal is just 'sharing' or always having ONLINE access to the documents (not editing online) then use Google Drive, OneDrive, etc. out there to always have access "everywhere" and stick with Microsoft Office for your office suite natively. If you can't afford Microsoft Office, there is OpenOffice, LibreOffice, and I have used WPS Office for years now. The problem that occurs with NON-Microsoft Office suites is compatibility, that is to say the way you make that file is NOT how a Microsoft Office person may see / able to use the file. This happens alot when getting into formatting documents, macros, etc. If your just sharing a basic "document" or oversimplified "spreadsheet", yeah you can get away with it, but anything else (nicely formatted Resume?) comes out all mucked up.
