Any Good Custom PC Shops?

I was going to try to build my first PC, but because of the inflated component prices from the crypto-mining and other stuff going on, I decided I might look at a prebuilt machine instead.

However, I'm not familiar with custom PC shops, so I need some recommendations on what shops have a good reputation. If I order a pre-built custom machine, I want to get it from a good shop.

I plan to get my machine sometime in the next month. If component prices drop by then, I'll look into building my own, but for now, I'm kind of desperate.

$2000 is the limit. The main purpose for the machine will be high end game development (and possibly gaming). My OS will be Windows 10, and I will be running UE4 on it.

You're not getting a decent system from Origin or Maingear for $2000. Especially not with the current graphics card prices. Any rig with decent specs like an 8700K and a 1080TI will run you at minimum $3000 minimum, $3500 depending on the options.

There really are no good prebuilts in that price range. At the bare minimum you get hosed. If you build your own, you can build on that budget. If you go with them, you will be adding at least a $1000 premium to the cost, and it can escalate depending on what you get.

Well, that's a bummer. I hope the prices for parts drop soon. My laptop has a difficult time running UE4 even on low settings.

Yeah even *IF* prices drop at some point it's still not a good idea to go with a vendor like this because you will still get hosed. You pay a premium when you go with these vendors. A $2000 build from Maingear will get you an i3-8100 and a GTX 1060. You can build the same system yourself for $1,000 less.

Thanks. I was looking at CyberPowerPC as well, but I saw some negative reviews about their quality control and customer service, so I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with them. However, the reviews seem to be generally positive on Amazon and their site.

All the negative reviews you see about Cyberpower are true. In fact just do a site search here and you'll find pages and pages of horror stories. Do not buy.
