I don't know if this is the correct forum, but looking for adive/tips/tricks for using the Logitech Pro wheel with aftermarket USB shifters that plug into the wheel and not the PC. This is to also use for Xbox, my wheel is for both Xbox and PC.

Maybe someone here knows or can direct me to a forum.

Thanks.

Just search the net. It isn't that hard
I did somewhat extensively before I started this thread. The thread title is asking for any racing sim forums.

My particular question is somewhat specific. Aftermarket shifter connected to the wheel itself. I figured I would include that just in case someone has dealt with this. I can connect the aftermarket shifter to the PC, that's not the problem.

The logitech adapter is for Logitech products, not aftermarket. My issue is using an aftermarket shifter with the Xbox console, which has one input. The extra 2 inputs on the wheel are what I'm trying to use. I have contacted Logitech, they only said they have the standard Logitech shifter, no other help.

No, it's not that hard, thanks for the links.

Yeah, when you buy big brand peripheral, it makes sense that it only works with other, same brand hardware. Else-ways, when it would be universal, brand wouldn't get sales to their other hardware, compatible with initial product.

For a positive side, this means that all the same brand hardware works fine together, since it's designed such.
For a negative side, this means that user is stuck in the same brand ecosystem.

With this, it is better to do your research beforehand, so you know the limitations. Rather than trying to figure it out afterwards, spending your time and effort on it. Which can end up futile.

I did plenty of research, which is why I ended up with the Logitech G-Pro wheel and pedals. They are mainly for the PC but I also use it for the Xbox One. No time and effort wasted for sure. I tried the Moza and the G-Pro just felt better, and for the price point it checked the boxes. There is also the Drivehub which allows other manufacturers' products like a shifter and handbrake to the G-Pro wheel, but with some limitations

I can use most any aftermarket shifter and handbrake with the G-Pro when on the PC, which is fine, I planned for that. I was after a known, busy racing sim forum to hopefully further educate myself on this issue but wanted to post my main area of search in case someone knew a workaround.

The problem (for me) and others I'm sure, is Logitech only offers one H-pattern shifter and it's decent, but nothing like the aftermarket. I have one but it also needs an adapter to use with the G-pro... as it's not USB but RS32. They have a sequential shifter but that defeats the point.

I can continue on with what I have, but it's odd that Logitech added 2 extra USB ports on the wheel, but doesn't offer (yet) a good shifter.

I'm fine with buying all Logitech accessories for the G-Pro, but they need to build them..lol.
