i checked for windows 10 updates and it stuck at 2%
for a long time so i shut down my computer
it said failed to install updates -but it was stuck at downloading not installing

also what if someone shut down the computer without khnowing the computer is downloading or installing updates ??

I'm talking about windows 10
as you khnow you need to visit update section to khnow if the computer is downloading or installing updates

but you don't check to see if windows is downloading or installing updates every time you turn off your computer right ?
because during that time windows will not alert you to not turn off pc

Of course not. If it is downloading, it will let you continue shutting down. If it is installing, it will say "Getting Windows Ready" or "Configuring Updates" Or whatever it says. I suggest you do not shutdown your computer when it is installing updates, unless the CPU is stuck in an infinite loop. You can tell if it is when you can't hear a scratching noise from the HDD, or the HD LED on your laptop/computer hasn't flashed for a while. Unfortunately, if you are like me, I have an SSD and no HD LED, so I can't tell. 😛

I did not got any of these messages (Getting Windows Ready" or "Configuring Updates)
when I shut down
but in windows update section there is a
failled install update or download I don't remember because the computer was shut down

3 scenarios that are possible: 1 good, 2 bad.

1. Your computer will restart or resume the installation of the update: GOOD
2. Your computer will get stuck in an endless loop of installing updates, restart, installing update, restart, installing update, etc. This forces you to go in safe mode and/or reset/refresh your computer - BAD
3. The Windows 10 files will become corrupted, although I do not know anyone who has witnessed this. You will need to go to safe mode, and even that may not work. You will have to reset/reinstall Windows from scratch,.

Normaly it Will download and iT Should inform you That updates are being installed once THE installaton is running iT Should say " instelling Windows updates do not switch off system" or something like That
