Hi all, I recently bought a PC, everything was fine until suddenly began to run very slow, at the startup and opening any aplication the hdd goes to 100% usage, tried to perform a clean install of windows 8.1 (was windows 10) but still remained the problem, then i tested using another hdd i had at home and it has the same problem, my specs are the following:
cpu: i7 6700k
motherboard: msi b150 mate
ram: 16GB ddr4 2133
hdd: seagate barracuda 1tb 7200rpm
graphic card: gtx 1060 6gb

Welcome to the TH Community, @nefarios!

You have done a great job with the troubleshooting so far! However, I suspect that the issue could be coming from the SATA port itself or the SATA cable that is connecting the hard drives to the motherboard. My recommendation is to try swapping the cable & the port and see if the problem would still persist. If you have access to another PC around, you could also try plugging the HDD there and see how it would behave.

If the problem is still present after the cable/port swap, I'd strongly recommend you run the HDD's brand-specific diagnostic tool and check up on the health and the SMART status.

Give these a try and let me know how it goes!
Good luck! :)
