Hi all, ive been reading this forum for long time, specially when i have questions and now i decided to update my rig. I bought this:

-i7.4790k
-Asus Maximus VII Ranger
-G. Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 2x4gb 1600mhz CL7 (blue ones) with this code: F3-12800CL7D-8GBXM

I want to OC the cpu in the future and the memory but i dont know almost nothing about memory ocing.. This modules where at the same price than cl9 ones and besides the latency i chose these because of overcloking. I read "XM" is better than "XL" for it and since they are cl7, they should be better, or im wrong?

Could you give a some help with this? and would be worth to relax latencies to get more frequency or i should leave them without oc?

thanks!

Try 1866 at 8-9-9-26 1.56 or even 2133 at 10-10-10-30 1.65 (initially with both, may have to play with voltages) but can try these settings for starters and let us know what happens. The RJ X set is a strong one 😉
Sorry for so long time disappeared, but i was waiting until yesterday for the memory sticks.. i was trying today and i can set them @ 1833 8-9-9-26 1.5v. i can see windows is faster now, even at startup but when i try 2133 i get BSOD, first time "page fault in nonpaged area" but now i get bsod "system thread exception not handled", what should i do? relax timings or maybe it would be worst than the 1833 oc?

Ok, im increasing ddr vtt and at 0.87500 windows started but rebooted after open 2 programs.. At 0.87500 the value turns red in the uefi and you said 1.1, its safe? I mean.. I read max safe ddr vtt for intel is 1.4 so i went increasing until 1.1 and even 1.2 and nothing, after login windows it crashes, now bsod "irql not less or equal"
