I have a corsair rm850 psu. a gtx 970 graphics a Intel i7 5820k I have a GA-X99-gaming 5P mother board atm have one stock of DDR4 16gb - 2666 CL16 288PIN UDIMM, I use a seidon cool 240mm radiator. When I power up and it immediately turns off then loop on off until I disconnect power. I have tried cmos clear thinking I have wrong ram or faulty motherboard. Any suggestions welcome thankyou

1) Try to use the XMP profile in the BIOS memory section, if you don't try it yet, because the i7 5820K can support up to 2133mhz, if the anything RAM is over 2133mhz that will be oc.

2) Check the MB BIOS version, if it does not have the newer one, F24c, you may consider to update it. But keep in mind, if you don't do it right, you will brick the MB.

And remove the RAM, clear the CMOS by the jumper or the battery. And boot the PC without the RAM, what happens? ofc, you will not boot into the BIOS too, but if you get no RAM error, that means the RAM setting or the RAM may have problem.

It does the same as with raam installed board lights up then goes off and loops... There is a light that flashes called fbios flashes once orange when I connect power unsure what that is. Also no speaker as one I have doesn't fit this board so can't tell about beep codes.

Did you mean without the RAM? If yes, then remove the boot device too, and use other GPU ( if you have one, because your cpu is without iGPU), clear the CMOS. After that boot the PC with other GPU, without the RAM and boot device.

Now, 1) the PC will boot, but you will get no RAM and no boot device, that means the MB and CPU are fine, either the boot device or RAM has problem. 2) If the PC does the same, the MB may have problem, ofc, the CPU may have problem too, but usually most of the time, the MB has problem.

I will have to find another motherboard to test out as psu and cpu are new, any recommendations on what I should try haha it is just repeating the loop of on off no matter what is tried

I can get the motherboard to power on if I don't push the 24pin power in all the way if its crooked the motherboard comes to life but not much else happens and as power isn't pushed in isn't very aafe
