I have recently built a new pc specs are
Gigabyte 1660(no not super)
Ryzen 5 3600
Hyper x 2 x 8GB
seagate sdd 1TB
solopower ssd 256GB
EVGA 600w PSU
ASUS B450 STEEL LENGEND
i have installed windows 10 perfectly fine. However from going into bios and task manager i cannot locate my GPU. everything else is showing up fine. fans spinning LED lights system seems ok bar the GPU. i have taken all apart and put back together changed pci slots and again recerting and still not appearing in bios. i have downloaded the drivers for my gpu and installed on windows but i can find it anywhere frame rates super low and well without a gpu at work very choppy. the games dont even know theres a gpu in this system lol. this is my first build and was very enjoyable up to this point im still learning but i need some help so any input would be great THANKS! BTW when booting pc and pressing F2 on the main there is no gpu option available

Hi,

sounds like you have got most of the way with the machine! Firstly - you won't 'see' the gpu in the bios, and as you can get to the bios (and the Ryzen 5 has no integrated gpu) the gpu must be working or you would have no display output.

When you initially install Windows, the gpu will be installed using a generic driver and should be listed in device manager under the 'Display Adapters' section as something like "Generic Display Adapter" or similar. This is normal behaviour and is what happens when installing the graphics card that are newer than the version of Windows you are using. If you were to put a much older graphics card into the machine (e.g. a Geforce 600 series card) then Windows may include drivers for it and will install it for you but this isn't the case for newer parts.

To get the graphics card working, you need to download and install the drivers from nVidia: here is a link to the current Geforce WHQL driver (this is the tested version that is recommended for stability): https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/drivers/results/160004/

Once that is installed your gpu should work correctly in games and so on.
