Hey guys..I have a problem and there are a lot of knowledgeable people on these forums, if I could get some opinions that would be great.

I have a BFG Geforce 280 GTX

About a week ago my power went out in the building, I boot up my pc the next day and go to play CoD 6( or any game) and it goes to a screen with mostly blue, red, green, and black "spray patterms" on it, and they freezes when I move my mouse ( which appears on the screen as a small colored square)

I can still hear the audio before it crashes, and I do have a surge protector btw.

Anyways..I can watch anything online like movies etc, and on VLC when I turned off graphics acceleration.

Im like 90% sure that the video card just got fried..but what confuses me is I am still able to use my 1900 x 1280 video settings and use the Nvidia control panel. outside of games..like my desktop and movies etc..

I'd like some reassurance before I go spend 400 bucks on a new card!

Boot into safemode (F8 during post, just before windows starts)
Do what JackNaylorPE said, but only uinstall everything, delete any nvidia folders aswell.

Reboot into windows, using the latest drivers, reinstall drivers.

Fresh install of OS is your next step.

If them two fail, contact BFG for an RMA.
