Any negatives to a using the Dell Windows 7 on a new PC?

I just built my first PC and didn't have a brand new copy of Windows 7 on hand. So instead, I just used an old Dell install disc I had and it worked. When I went to the operating system info it said I had two days left on my trial so I entered an extra key I had and now everything seems good.

Under the System info, my System Manufacturer now says "Dell" and it even has the Dell logo which is annoying considering I hate Dell and built this PC to get away from my old Dell XPS... Nothing in this PC is from Dell.

Everything seems to be running fine, but I'm a rook to building PCs and was wondering if there is anything wrong with doing this? Anything like the OS not working perfectly in sync with my ASROCK Z87 mobo because its looking for a Dell-specific version? Is the Dell version worse in any way than say buying a brand new version?

How is it illegal if I used a legal serial number to activate it? I just used the dell disc to boot Windows 7. I didn't crack anything...

He is a rookie... so we'll teach him, rather than burn him. :)
@Rookie: you maybe in grey area - but you're not selling the computer so the Microsoft police won't bother with you.
As a small system builder, I have a few discs handy. Even Dell... as customers may not have them. But I use their key... hence, that is not a problem.

You won't be needing to build another computer until Windows 9 comes out.. or later. But if its as messed up or worse than Win8... ugh...

I also recommend you play with Linux (Linux Mint - Cinnamon 64bit version), its pretty slick. Cool thing about Linux, there are no KEYS and the latest version is a quick download away... you can install it on thousands of computers legally.... since its free.

Now with all of that out of the way here is a link to legal copies of Windows 7 in which you can use. You have to phone activate them but they are legal and I use this method now that a User on Tom's Hardware provided me with this information. Thanks belardo for clearing the air and I do apologize if I came of as a troll rather than being helpful. :)
