Any of you keep fish or coral aquaria?

I currently have a freshwater tank with some tropical fish in it....a 30G tall IIRC, I would have to measure it to be sure. I am currently taking care of another of the same size that our son that recently moved out couldn't take with him. Getting close to combining the two, but waiting to see if one of the fish gets just a touch bigger lest he get eaten.

I worked in a fish store that imported salt water fish and coral aquaria for some years. Possibly the best 'job' I have ever had. It was mostly a lot of fun. When I worked there and afterward when I had some contacts within the business I kept both fish and a coral reef tank with the skimmers and sumps and all that good stuff. I tried to do another reef tank some time later, counting on online sources to get my supplies. Unfortunately I purchased a bit of glove polyps that had bubble algae and it ended up taking over my tank. I didn't have a good water purification system, so was counting on a commercial filter system at a local outlet, so the water was just not pure enough.

I have no real intention of keeping salt critters again, but have been considering picking up another 50G breeder and making a plant tank again. I had one that went for over a decade and never needed cleaning aside from scheduled water change. I was using a canister filter on that system and it just ran perfectly.

What about you? Got a goldfish bowl, or other?

20+ years ago a friend and I had a collection of tanks, 4 x four foot tanks + a few smaller.
We only kept tropical fish, we couldn't afford salt water set ups or even just the fish themselves
For about a year or so we had a few breeding pairs of Angels, and sold a few batches of babies to shops

I try not to think about them now as I don't have the space for a fish tank in my room now as my PC has taken its place. That and the prices of fish has gone silly in those years. I still have a four foot tank in my shed. I don't have any of the other things I need to set it up... lights, filters, pumps, gravel, fish

Hi! I have an aquarium, not very big, about 30 liters. Earlier guppies kept, no problems at all, even when the pump failed, they did not care, multiplied like mad. When we moved, then brought others, these problematic, then they are cold and then hot.

Both of the tanks I have are still going strong. They are "29 gallon" tanks. I recently did a big cleaning and overhaul of one of them and introduced some more fish. The other I am having issue with the lighting built into the hood and am attempting to find an out of the box solution for new lights. The replacement lid is a few dollars short of the whole tank with the lid.

Had one when I was a kid, standard goldfish tank. I spent most of my time playing Insaniquarium back then so naturally I wanted a real aquarium tank. Also had a betta aquarium too. Unfortunately, like everyone else, had to finally let go of them when I started college.

Been thinking of building another one these days, I still have the original aquarium tank (which I only used to store random boxes and DVDs these days). Just fill it with water, the filters and equipments, some sand, add fishes, and voila!

But due to my line of work, I don't think that's going to happen.

Well, at least I still have my copy of Insaniquarium and its virtual tank screen saver. That would do in a pinch.
