Any one avg temperature is 75

Any one is using DFI motherboard, my model is 865PE-AL. This a few that I found that my temperature reach the maximum temperature 95 degree. It shut down itself. my fan speed is 4100rpm. I using AIDA32 to check the information what is my problem for it? I don't think is my fan problem because the speed is 4100rpm can be said is fast, but my temperature starting at 75, after that avg like 76,77. If I scan virus it can reach until 92 degree. If I play game( I cannot see the temperature already) suddenly it shut down, but I can sure that the temperature is too high, because when I check back is 94 degree.

Any one face this problem? or any suggest??? urgent!

PS: mine Processor is Intel P4 2.8E Prescott.

Firstly is this the temperature of your case or CPU?

The prescott CPU's are famous for being some of the hottest desktop CPU's ever made. However 75degrees C really is bad (normally they should idle around 60 on stock HSF) I think the thermal ceiling for your CPU is around 75-80 degrees C so running it at those temps could really shorten its life.

Take off the heatsink and fan, clean it with some alcohol, apply and small ammount of thermal paste and then reattach the heatsink.

How many fans do you have running in your case?

This is my CPU Temperature.

I open my casing already, so i think inside just one fan that is beside the cpu fan there.

I also feel that was bad, so I want to survey that got DFI motherboard user or not, they facing same problem?

Either move some air through that case or junk it and get a BTX case. One fan is not going to cut it unless you are a baseball player and the fan is a stacked blonde!

Any change in temps? The BTX cases are ducted for that CPU.

Doublecheck the heatsink, sounds like it isn't seated properly. When you install it, just push them down till they click, don't screw them in as that does nothing. After you are satisfied the heatsink is on solidly, give the legs' tops a quarter turn or so till they lock. If the HS is on properly, your CPU should idle at 40-47c and reach 60-63c under load depending on the motherboard.

Seriously though, I agree it sounds like your Heatsink isn't seated properly. Those temps are very high even for a Prescott, unless you live in Death Valley.

Make sure you haven't got a wire trapped under a corner of it or something.
