Any opinions about this build?

I'm building an extremely high-end gaming build for a wealthy friend of mine and I'm just wondering if this build would cut it. Keep in mind that games would be played on multiple 4k monitors with the intention of maxing it out . Budget is a non-issue and the build should be future-proof, that is, it must be able to max out games within the next 1 1/2 to 2 years before the gpu has to be replaced.

would anyone recommend watercooling or are the fans sufficient for long hours of extreme gaming?

Personally I would drop those HDD's and find a 7200RPM 3TB Seagate instead of a 3TB WD RED 5400RPM, Get rid of those RAM sticks and pick up 2x8 instead of 4x4, there is no need for 8 RAM modules, the amount of fans you have, plus the watercooling is fine, looks good and should be future proof!

wow, just wow..Your friend must be a millionaire to assemble such a build. That motherboard will leave the video cards right next to each other, limiting their airflow. Unless you plan to build a custom watercooling loop for them, you might look for a board that allows you to put gaps between them by plugging them into slots 1, 4, and 7. The one you chose only supports video cards in slots 1, 3, 5, and 7. Here's one that looks like it would work:

Looks good but I agree with the previous poster - try Western Digital Black hard drives (7200 rpm) or their higher 10000rpm ones.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too, so I guess the hard drives should better be replaced with a 7200RPM seagate one since it would have a better read and write speed.

Well,maybe not, but it would be good to future -proof since 4k is slowly trickling in. Most people would not be able to justify the high cost of 4k displays, but for niche consumers likehis friend who loves to be ahead of the future, why not? In that sense,modern games may not be able to be played on
max settings yet, but why not future-proof if you have the money?

Couldnt have said it better myself.4k is the future, and thats where hardcore tech enthusiasts like my friend would love to be ahead of. And by the way, I gave due consideration to your motherboard selection and since I am not operating on a tight budget (no budget in fact), as well as to allow greater heat dissipation for the 3 cards, I have decided to switch the motherboard to the one you recommended. And I have also made some changes to the hard drives according to suggestions made earlier.I will be posting an updated parts list soon,. In the meantime, the tomshardware community would be very much welcome to suggest changes to this build.

The 3960x would be a better option since the performance increase of haswell processors are minimal at best when compared to ivy bridge. This is where I refer to for cpu benchmarks :http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html . The xeon e5 would be the highest rated cpu currently out there, but since it has locked multipliers, you wouldn't be able to overclock it and that would be a big no for such a high-end gaming rig. And the extra titan would not be necessary since there are only 3 monitors and the game would have to be played at a resolution less than the 4k resolution of 3840 x 2160 in order to be maxed out. Not the mention, the titan has over 6gb of vram per card, making 3 of it more than sufficient for high resolution gaming. The custom waterloop would not be necessary since the OP has already mentioned that he would be changing the motherboard, and with the amount of fans he has, the build would be good to go. Memory wise, it would be up to the OP but the 4x4gb suggested earlier would be more than sufficient for the next 2 years or more of gaming.
