So I have a budget of around 1k and want to build a decent PC, but I rly have no idea what I'm doing and have never built a PC before. I have been doing some research and have a pretty good idea of what I need to build it, I just don't know what parts out there are gonna be the best for me with the budget I have. I already have 16 GBs of leftover RAM and a 500GB SSD i can use, but all the other parts I need to get myself. Any suggestions on good GPUs, CPUs, motherboards I should buy with a budget of 1k?

Graphics card prices are at an insane all time high atm due to the extreme shortage of gpu's along with the internet mining craze. And btw RAM speed does make a difference.

What will your PC be used for, what RAM do you have and do you have a graphics card?

Im going to use it for gaming, I don't need to to be at the highest setting but I just want it to run smoothly. I dont have a graphics card yet and im not completely sure what ram I have, but im pretty sure its compatible with most motherboards

I probably wouldn't recommend a 10400 now that the 12400 is out. The IPC boost is worth the $25. Hopefully some less expensive B660/H670 boards start showing up, as the cheapest I have seen is still $159. The 12100f is another really good low budget option, right now. GPU pricing really makes these systems difficult to come up with.
