I'm still using my Soundblaster X-Fi PCIe discrete sound card. At first because it had slightly better audio specs than on-board sound and EAX support. But I haven't played any EAX games in years and I've read modern sound chipsets might have superior audio specs to my SB X-Fi. Do modern, on-board, sound chipsets support message signaled interrupts? Creative Labs' drivers for the X-Fi don't support message signaled interrupts and I've read that message signaled interrupts have less latency than std., shared, PCIe interrupts. Is there any point in using my X-Fi anymore? Do modern soundcards support MIDI soundfonts?
