I tend to use a notch below that. Only because a notch lower is default on the programs I use.

I do use that at times. When some other program complains that the lower notch is unacceptable.

Chances of your ears or anyone's ears being able to tell the difference other than by luck?

One ten thousandth of one percent?

But you could have uncertainty or doubt if you didn't use the highest. "What if......"?

No downside that I know of.
