Any recommendations for a TV Tuner?

Currently on Windows 8.1 Home 64 bit.
I'm in college and my apartment has free cable.
However, I don't really feel like dishing out the $ for a new tv.

I'm not sure if I should get one for the pciex1 slot or a usb form factor.
Any recommendations?

USB. Can be used with multiple machines, just plug and play.

Well personally I haven't used any but saw good reviews about AVerMedia AVerTV Hybrid Volar Max.
