main question is will this run cool enough in a 175r with only one case fan? any other recommendations welcome tho

Looks pretty good. I would highly suggest getting more case fans. I would suggest 2 in the front as intake and one in the back as exhaust.

Are you looking at the 2200g because of price? If so, here's the "new" ryzen 5 1600af. Basically a slightly lesser 2600. It's a 1600, but on 12nm vs 14 for the original 1600. Gamers nexus did a solid review of it. Also the 85 bucks as the 2200g and so much better!!

If you can stretch your budget a bit, I highly recommend 16gb of ram. Only 13 bucks more, and 16gb!

You may think about more storage as 500gb fills up fast. But that can always be added later down the road.

All in all, if gaming, should be a solid 1080 build.

OlOy ram seems to be memory ICs which failed binning from other companies, as that's what the lowest priced ram tends to be. But 16Gb is 16Gb and unless you really want to overclock the kit, the memory should do fine, and should hit spec.

How much storage one needs is really subjective. The build I'm running basically carried over the drives from my old pc from 3 years ago, and I'm only up to about 590GB used, with maybe half of that being games. Sure, if you have giant steam libraries, 500GB is not much, but many people don't. That being said if you really do need 1TB, there are many solid options for $40-50 more, such as crucial MX500, Samsung 860 Evo, and some nvme drives like HP ex920 or Sabrent Rocket.

Yeah I agree about the storage. I do however have a fairly large steam library, and often recommend what I would need vs what others may. But another thing to consider is alot of new AAA titles are huge! Rdr2 is 140gb, cod modern warfare is 100gb, gtav is 50ish or larger. New resident evil 2 is 50. I also do flight sims and have a feeling the new fs2020 is going to be gigantic. So if new games are on the radar, more storage is a good idea. But again, can always add more later really easily.

I didn't know that about that ram. Good to know. I just saw the price on pcpartpicker and selected based on that. Was gonna go with my normal corsair lpx recommendation for 77, but the oloy seems a steal at under 60. From reviews it seems solid. I think it's worth a try. As you said 16gb is 16gb and alot of newer titles can easily use 6 or more GB. Leaving little for windows and other systems. 16gb is just good to have.
