Any recommendations or changes

im a gamer and work with autodesk maya and zbrush for school. building my first pc for that and just wondering if its a good build and if any recommendations or changes anyone wants to add to that

I would try to get a much better GPU in there. a gtx650 will get you medium settings in modern games at best. You want to look into a 7850 or higher for high settings on recent games.

GTX 650 is under 100$ and im a fan of EVGA
but i will keep my eyes on the 7850 for sales and any other high end card

Yeah EVGA are great - maybe an EVGA GTX660? Presumably you know about where the i7 delivers advantage over the i5 (i.e. not in games)?

EDIT: I wouldn't get that SSD. I have one and it's a great drive for a 2nd gen, but you'd be much better off with a 120GB Samsung 830. That is an excellent deal though, especially for 160GB.

hellz yea for EVGA, as for i7 vs i5, both maya and zbrush shows better performance with Hyper Threading on the i7 and my instructor at school recommends the i7 over i5, but the amount of increase doesn't seem too great as far as i can see and there isn't many information on that out there so i am still debating on that really, needs more research.

Cool 🙂 Figured that's why you were going with the i7, just wanted to be sure you didn't think it would help games! You never know anyway, maybe in a few years games will make better use of Hyperthreading.
