I keep getting a D4/04 error code on my Asus ROG Maximus viii hero mobo.

It was working fine earlier today until.I turned it off. Then when I tried to turn it on tonight I get a 04 or D4 error code and it doesn't post.

I have tried a variety of solutions including reseating CPU and RAM. Removing my GPU and reseting the CMOS. None of it has worked to get my computer to post.

I have run it with just my cpu and cooler attached. That gets me to a memory error, so. I reinstall my RAM and it returns to the 04/D4 error code.

Like I said it was running earlier today just fine until I turned it off.
Apologies for spelling and formating becausemail I am on a phone.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My specs are:

Asus ROG Maximus viii hero mobo
I7 6700k skylake
Corsair h110 liquid cooling
Evga gtx 970 gpu
4 x 8gb ddr 4 g skill rip jaws v ram
128 gb ssd and 1 tb hard drive

I should also note what each code means.

04 code is PCH initialization before microcode loading.

D4 code is PCH allocation error. I suficient resources.

So I feel like if it was a D4 error removing/changing my GPU slot should fix that error but it didn't change anything and still fails to boot.

I am not very sure what the 04 error code means but I my hunch is that it would be a cpu or memory error.

Could it be a problem with my mother board?

I'm currently struggling with a LED code D2 on my Gigabyte mobo which means "PCH Initialization Error". My research tells me the PCH is basically the southbridge of your chipset. Mine seems to be from a lightning issue so I'm looking for a new mobo now. :(
