I wanted to upgrade my AGP 8x graphics card to a 512 ddr3 HIS radeon 4350 Graphics Card. I checked reviews and read numerous problems about d530 hp compaq series, involving the motherboard bios not able to recognize the ddr3 graphics card. I'm hoping to read some successful upgraded stories involving my HP Compaq d530 series, So i know which cards actually work. Hopefully a succesful 512mb graphics card story, because thats what im looking for, so that I don't have to worry about wasting the little money that I have on a GC that won't work.
Also maximum ram for the PC is 4gb ddr, I wanted to upgrade to 6gb. Any opinions on this working safely with a 500w PSU With a nicely upgraded fan cooled hp PC?
Specs: hp compaq d530
3.2ghz ht p4
Ram: 2gb
Agp: 128mb fx 5500 series
PowerSupply: 500w
Here's the actual AGP link of the card I wanted.

your best choice is HD 4670 1G GDDR3 AGP , OR HD 3650 1G DDR2 AGP

I dont know aout DDR3 not working , they should work ...

look in Ebay

the HD 3650 AGP still selling http://dx.com/p/agp-ati-radeon-hd-3650-512m-ddr2-agp-4x-8x-video-card-45922?utm_source=GoogleShoppingUS&utm_medium=CPC&utm_content=45922&utm_campaign=332

If you ask me , dont waste your money , with 150$ you can get new motherboard , new CPU, memory and Faster graphics ... and use your system leftovers

here is an example :

thats a dual core 3.9 Ghz modern CPU is like I dunno lol 20 times faster than your cpu , and 4G of ram and faster graphics than u can get on your old AGP system for just 150$ ... and it will fit in your case.

That was a great answer, you've made a great point upgrading my entire system. This PC was a gift, I've spent about $15 in total inside the PC which was to upgrade the 2gb ram. I haven't spent much, but I don't have much money to spend.
