I am building my first computer, and want something that is going to last me through college. I'm going to use it for school, as well as some gaming. I've got a budget of about $1400 (already have a monitor).

Are there any changes anyone would suggest? Is this too much?

For that same price ,rysen 5 1600 will be a good choice .it has 6 cores and 12 threads so it will a balanced build for gaming and productivity stuffs .

Get a different power supply, the raidmax scorpio psu's are pretty bad. On a budget would recommend Seasonic's S12II/M12II or for a bit more you can get something like a Seasonic Focus Plus or EVGA SuperNova G2/G3.
