Additional Comments: As far as games goes he will be playing Escape from Tarkov, Ready or Not and Squad
For storage he wanted 2-3 TB. I was thinking 1 TB NVME drive and a 2-3TB secondary Drive for his games that won't fit on the C drive or games to backup(slow internet) from the C drive when it's full. As for the Monitor I'm not too sure on it entirely he just saw it and picked it. It looks good overall but I'm sure of it, I could use suggestions in this area. I probably need to change the Hard drive to a 7,200 RPM model, I just noticed that it's 5,400 RPM.

Nvme is not faster than SSD, for now.
Sandisk is as good as Samsung and performs just as well.
1440P is neither UHD nor 4K, give it up, a weird res. some games do not play well with, for a low gamer budget stick with 1920x1080.
SLI/Crossfire no longer supported by game developers (or GPU makers, no more bridge connectors, software eats more resources).
You'll get more performance for your money building AMD/AMD (and less spyware backdoors) thanks to Ryzen and 6000 series GPUs.
More stability too, I don't like those 8+4 cores from intel running 2.5ghz year 2000 stock speed. It's a gimmick to catch up to AMD pricing.
If you get a 4TB SSD you don't need an HDD, it will bottleneck your whole system. Also disable pagefile with 16GB Ram or more.

I’ve been gaming on 1440p for a few years and not had a single problem with any game. I have read some ultrawide resolutions can sometimes have issues but nothing about standard 1440p. 1440p is even supported by XBox these days. I prefer 1440p, at 27” I don’t like 1080p, the dpi is too low making text not sharp to the point I find it annoying. At 4K you pay too much of a penalty in fps and at 27” 4K is not needed. I run 4K 120Hz when I occasionally connect my pc to the TV. 1440p to me gives sufficient dpi to keep a sharp image at 27” and allows for better fps.

However a 3060 is below the level of gpu I would normally consider for 1440p but it should do ok if you are willing to compromise game settings.

With that monitor, I would recommend something better than a 3050. Frankly, any high-refresh monitor is wasted on that system, but do as you want. Either your or my monitor would be good. Not sure why you would cheap out on the GPU of all things. Here would be a decent system.

Except they are measurably faster in every metric and especially system start up... and what you say about 1440p is complete nonsense, I had 0 issues so far, neither with a 1070 nor with a 3070Ti. It's a standard resolution and fully supported by literally every game around. Little of what you said has any base at all. The i5-12400 doesn't even have e-cores, and they influence stability exactly not at all on my 12700k. On the other hand, AMD CPUs had quite a few issues recently from what I heard, especially with TPM. Inform yourself first before writing up stuff, please. A HDD as a data grave also doesn't really bottleneck in any significant way and a 4 TB SSD is exorbitantly expensive and would crush the budget.

I've avoided Sandisk because for me for some reason It felt like a generic brand, that is good to know. I personally own a Intel 660P which is pretty good overall. I think 1440P would be a sweet spot, for him I think 1080P is enough but he says he wants to be able to see his enemies so that extra resolution wouldn't hurt(maybe only performance). To add to that 4k is overkill and I wouldn't touch it for a while unless gaming on a large TV screen. I actually saw a video from hardware unboxed and the 6000 Series seems like the king for price/performance. 4TB for his budget is out of the question at the moment sadly. I think having a secondary drive would be nice so he could put his important games on his C drive. He can always backup to HDD and move it back to his SSD if he needs to. Does disabling Page filing help with 16GB systems? I thought you needed that for like hybrid sleep and other stuff.

That's because Sandisk is a generic brand and not recommendable. Seen more than one complaint about them. They are cheap. They aren't overly reliable and I avoid them as a system drive at all costs. Honestly, none of the advice that person gave was very good.

@fatalshot808 it's always best to start these threads a week or less before you plan on purchasing due to the constantly changing of prices on hardware not to mention both Intel and AMD will have a new line of cpu's released by then thus changing the current pricing even more so. With that said I'd look at a 1080P build with your budget if you were purchasing today due to the fact he plays first person shooter games where frames per second count a lot.

I was wondering does 1080P look funny on a 1440p screen because of scaling issues? I don’t have a problem with 1080p on smaller monitors, it’s just when at 27” or 32” for me I need 1440p. You also want to run the native resolution of the monitor, 1080p on a 1440p monitor will look worse than if running a 1080p monitor.

I’m running a 3080 with my setup. I started with 1440p 144Hz but upgraded to 1440p 240Hz about 6 months ago. I am not saying a 3080 is needed, there are other cards that can do a great job. When running 144Hz/fps I could pretty much max out or at least very high settings on nearly all games except for Ray Tracing.

I'll make another tread when its within a week of purchasing, sorry for posting so early I guess we got excited but thanks for actually making a build for us! What's the difference between the 3060 and the 3060TI all I remember was it was a wider bus memory and 8 GB opposed to 12GB that's all I recall. Well thanks again for your help!
